To meet the rapid development of broadband, video and mobile service, All-IP network has become the primary choice for operators. Delivering high capacity, flexibility, and security, the intelligent transport network has become the main stream next-generation metro transport network.
OSN6800/3800 incorporates multiple next generation network technologies such as G.709 OTN, ROADM, tunable and pluggable optics, ASON/GMPLS, 40G, data switching, ODB capability, delivering flexible, cost effective and data-optimized optical transport infrastructure.
Features
Transparent Access
OSN6800/3800 employs G.709 digital wrapper protocol that allows any service access transparently with 16Mbps to 40Gbps (IP/Ethernet, ATM, SDH, fiber channel, ESCON, and digital video, etc.) or bit-rate (16Mb/s to 2.5Gbps, 5Gbps, 10Gbps, 40Gbps, etc), which it fully matches the evolution from TDM to IP.
Flexible Grooming
Innovative three-level traffic grooming infrastructure, which integrates dynamic optical cross-connect (Multi-degree ROADM), flexible electric grooming (Any ADM), embedded L2 switch processing capability.
Manageability
Employing OTN as the transport layer of All-IP network, OSN6800/3800 precisely addresses transport-related operations, administration, maintenance and provisioning tasks, while keeping other services related to management functions (for example, bandwidth management, aggregation, and end-to-end monitoring).
Efficient Agile
WDM has been statically configured by operators through the network management system (NMS), manual interventions are still needed to satisfy certain requests such as connection set-up or tear-down, and these results in a long response time.
Operators are facing more dynamic traffic pattern today. One way to solve this issue is to evolve from a static optical transport network to a dynamic and flexible Automatic Switched Optical Network (ASON). In this context, switch connections can be set up or tear-down on demand.
